Performance
When applied to soil at recommended rates, PROTHOR is undetectable by termites as they tunnel through it. Since termites can’t detect PROTHOR treated soil, they can’t avoid it and are killed by their contact with it. We call this the PROTHOR Termite Defence Zone™.
When termites unknowingly tunnel through PROTHOR treated soil, they accumulate PROTHOR on the outside of their bodies. PROTHOR does not immediately kill termites exposed to it. The delayed toxicity of PROTHOR allows contaminated termites to interact with non-exposed termite nestmates. This interaction can take place over three days. This ensures greater transfer and kills more termites than similar products. Non-affected termites that clean and groom other termites recently exposed to PROTHOR are themselves secondarily exposed and killed. This transmission of PROTHOR from termite to termite which cannot be detected or avoided by termites is referred to as the PROTHOR Viral Effect™.
The active ingredient in PROTHOR has some very special and unique soil binding properties. Chemists call these properties Hysteretic Binding. It binds to three types of calcium-channels on the membranes of insect neurons, preventing calcium ion influx into the cell. The presence of three different target sites accounts for ULTRATHOR’s high potency.
ULTRATHOR X displays selective activity due, in part, to the fact that glutamate-mediated chloride channels are unique to invertebrates, like insects and termites. Performance
PERMETHOR dust is ideal for areas where liquid based formulations are not suitable. This includes large voids or areas where there is a risk of corrosion or spray drift to electrical equipment. For best results in roof or wall voids apply using a power duster. PERMETHOR is most effective when a fine coating only is applied. Ensure you use the lightest application of dust and avoid “mounds” of dust as insects will not pass through these.
PERMETHOR is also ideal for use as a flushing agent during inspections to identify cockroach and other pest harbourages.

Performance
In-ground Stations containing hardwood timber interceptors are placed in-ground to intercept foraging termites and protect the property. Above-ground Stations are the preferred approach when termites are already active in the property. REQUIEM™ Termite Bait is placed in the sealed station when it is installed. Above-ground Stations speed up the process of colony elimination. After the termite colony is eliminated, the Above-ground Stations are removed.
When the termites are intercepted, they are easily detected in the EXTERRA Stations. The unique (patented) design allows for termites to be seen without disturbing them. EXTERRA In-Ground Station (IGS) Termite Interception and Colony Elimination System
The Exterra In-ground station consists of a hollow body with side and bottom perforations, an opening opposite to the bottom, and a removable, tamper-resistant cover that is affixed over the opening. Six timber interceptors are positioned around the edge of the station.

Installation of In-Ground Station:
Focus Termite attractant is placed to the soil prior to the placement of the In-Ground Station. Focus releases carbon dioxide upon contact with the soil. This carbon dioxide attracts termites, they enter the station through the perforation and slowly feeds on the interceptors.
After termite activity is observed in the station, Requiem is placed in the vacant center cavity of the station, replenishing it as long as termite activity is observed.
Above-Ground station are inspected approximately every 2-4 weeks.

Interceptors are specially cut pieces of a type of wood that is highly preferred by termites. Before a station is used, six wooden interceptors are placed in the station in such a way that they line the interior of the station while resting against the outer walls of the station. Because the walls of the station have numerous openings in them to the exterior, the interceptors come in direct contact with the earth when the station is installed in the ground. FOCUS Termite Attractant – Exterra Station
Focus is a natural, non-toxic, food based additive that is added to Exterra In-ground Stations. Once in contact with the soil it works with soil micro-organisms to slowly release a small, precisely determined amount of attractant carbon dioxide (CO2) into the soil.
Termites Love CO2. It might not be a gourmet flavour to us, but CO2 certainly attracts termites, University research has proven it. Termites are attracted to levels of CO2 that mimic those naturally given off by both rotting wood and termite nests, so the CO2 in the soil directs termites to potential feeding sites. The Focus in your Exterra Station is doing its job, directing the termites to an Exterra Station. So with Focus producing an engineered concentration of CO2 that attracts termites directly to the large Exterra Stations, you know your home is optimally protected.
CSIRO studies show that quite simply and obviously, the larger the monitoring station, the quicker any termites in your garden will find it, instead of your house! So with Focus Termite Attractant producing a naturally engineered concentration of CO2 that attracts termites directly to the large Exterra Station, you know your home is being optimally protected.
Exterra Stations are nearly four times larger than most other Stations, so once the termites start to follow the CO2 trail they quickly find the Exterra Stations.
